The L.E.A.R.N.
is an Amateur Radio repeater, serving all of
Southern California from 5600' atop Santiago
Peak, in Orange County, California. Operating on
a coordinated frequency of 446.840, the repeater
covers
Los Angeles,
Orange,
Riverside,
and portions of
San Diego
and
San Bernardino
counties as well.
Most of our
members are licensed Amateur Radio Operators
involved with Law Enforcement, emergency
services, Fire Protection, or Urban and Rural
Search/Rescue units of some sort, but that's not
a prerequisite to join us. If you are a licensed
Amateur Radio operator in the Southern
California area, and are looking for a
Radio Home,

repeater is a CLOSED-PRIVATE repeater system,
however
memberships
are available to qualified licensed
Amateur Radio operators in the Southern

The W6OCS
Repeater is located at an elevation 5687' on the
top of Santiago Peak, in the
Cleveland National Forest.
Use of the Santiago Peak site is granted via a
Special Use Permit from the
US Forest Service.
The repeater
operates on a coordinated frequency of
446.840(rx) 441.840(tx) and uses a PL tone of
114.8hz.

The W6OCS repeater
is a CLOSED-PRIVATE System
But that
does not mean we are unfriendly! Most of our
users are affiliated with a Law Enforcement,
Fire Protection, or emergency services
agency of some sort, but that's not a
prerequisite to join us. If you are a
licensed Amateur Radio operator in the
Southern California area, and are looking
for a Radio Home, then you might want to
consider us your destination.

the 2-meter, 6-meter, 50-cm and 70-cm

coverage in Orange, Riverside, and Los
Angeles counties. Coverage in large
portions of San Diego, San Bernardino and
Ventura counties as well.

Membership Costs...
Membership in the W6OCS Repeater costs
$80.00 per year, and is a FAMILY Membership.
There are
NO
initiation fees and
NO
service fees. Your membership fees help pay
for the costs involved in operating the
repeater, and include (but are not limited
to) U.S. Forest Service limited use fees,
commercial building and tower space rent,
equipment repairs and replacement and
utilities charges. We work hard to make the
annual membership fees accurately match our
annual expenses.
